-  "... Total 274 species for both Panama (225) and Darien (81) provinces. Susan and I got 141 lifers. For comparison our 2004 Brazil trip got 269 species (226 lifers) and 2006 Ecuador trip got 192 species (172 lifers).....Susan got the Great Tinamou, Dusky-faced Tanager, Black-and-yellow Tanager, and Purple-crowned Fairy on me and I got the Rufous-necked Wood-Rail and Rufous Mourner on her. Turns out that I had seen the Barred Antshrike in the Pantanal 2004 and in Mexico in 1995. All that fuss I made!
Thanks to Gonzalo, Kilo, local guides Julian, Mario and Luis we saw lots of great birds. As noted before we got more species than both Brazil and Ecuador trips".   Chuck B.     < bush.email (AT) cox.net>
